KIA Atlas Netball Team has appealed to well-wishers and the corporate community for financial support as it prepares for the upcoming FDH Bank Netball League season.
The team’s General Secretary, Raheem Grey Malango, said competing at the elite level comes with demanding financial requirements, noting that the club is currently supported by a single sponsor.
Malango made the call as preparations for the 2026 season gather pace, with the team expected to fulfil fixtures across the country.
“At the moment, the team depends on the President and owner, Mr. Moffat Kavimwembe Zimba, for support. While this has sustained operations, it will be challenging for one individual to meet all the requirements associated with league participation,” he said.
He cited costs related to travel and accommodation for fixtures in cities such as Mzuzu and Blantyre, saying these are essential to ensuring the team competes effectively throughout the season.
Malango has since urged individuals, companies, and organisations to partner with the team through various forms of assistance.
“Support does not have to be financial alone. It may also come in the form of contributions such as providing water during matches, covering accommodation, or any other form of assistance, all of which are equally appreciated. Every effort counts,” he said.
As the season draws closer, KIA Atlas remains focused on building its structures and creating a conducive environment for players, with management expressing confidence that increased support will enable the team to meet its commitments and compete effectively at the highest level.
